 Anxiety & Depression

Anxiety and depression are two of the most common and most misunderstood mental health challenges adults face. You may look fine on the outside while quietly struggling with worry that won't quiet down, a heaviness that won't lift, or a sense that you're just going through the motions.

At Hope Restored Counseling Services, we see you. Our licensed therapists provide compassionate, evidence-based telehealth therapy for adults in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC who are ready to find relief, build resilience, and reclaim their lives.

Signs You Might Benefit from Therapy

You may be experiencing anxiety or depression if you notice:

  • Persistent worry, fear, or a sense of dread

  • Feeling sad, empty, or hopeless most of the time

  • Difficulty concentrating, making decisions, or staying present

  • Changes in sleep — sleeping too much or not enough

  • Withdrawing from people or activities you used to enjoy

  • Physical symptoms like fatigue, headaches, or tension

  • Irritability, restlessness, or feeling on edge

  • Feeling disconnected from your faith or sense of purpose

How We Treat Anxiety & Depression

Our therapists use proven, evidence-based approaches tailored to your unique needs, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — identifying and reframing thought patterns that fuel anxiety and depression

  • Trauma-Informed Care — addressing the root experiences that may be driving your symptoms

  • Mindfulness-Based Strategies — building present-moment awareness and emotional regulation

  • Faith-Integrated Therapy — for clients who want their Christian faith woven into the healing process

We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Your therapy is built around you — your story, your goals, and your pace.

When Faith and Mental Health Intersect

Many of our clients come to us feeling guilty for struggling  as if anxiety or depression is a sign of weak faith. We want you to know: it isn't. Scripture acknowledges the full weight of human emotion, and God meets us in our darkest places.

For clients who desire it, we integrate Christian principles, prayer, and Scripture into the therapeutic process — because we believe healing is holistic and your faith is a resource, not a barrier.

Getting Started Is Simple

We accept CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Maryland Medicaid, and self-pay. All sessions are via secure telehealth, no commute, no waiting room, just care from wherever you are in Virginia, Maryland, or DC.
